Looking for inspiration I returned to my background in architecture, and started a series derived from two point perspective.
This diptych uses the same set of carving lines. On the left the taper is lifted to meet the cutting path. On the right the taper falls away from the cutting path.
Placing the wood at an angle to the cutter and not cleaning up the edges to try a different approach.
The fifth in the series. This piece is open at the top and bottom, so the viewer can better perceive the void that creates the hand.
This was the first in this series of stacked acrylic sculptures. There is no glue between the layers, and the image is created by a void in each layer.
